Lothringer 13 Halle, in cooperation with Artist-in-Residence Munich (the residency programme of the City of Munich), invites applications for three transdisciplinary residencies for professional cultural practitioners working at the intersection of art, journalism, and curating.
The project Curating Journalism understands freedom of the press and artistic freedom as complementary conditions of a democratic public sphere. Their solidarity is a central cultural task of democratic societies.
The residency is part of the research and exhibition project Curating Journalism and supports independent research-based projects exploring new connections between artistic, journalistic, and curatorial practice.
The residency is from 8 January to 26 March 2027 in Ebenböckhaus, Munich, Germany.
Applicants must have their primary place of residence within Europe and outside Bavaria.
The residency includes:
- Monthly stipend (1,400 EUR/month)
- Production funding of up to 1,400 EUR per resident (up to 600 EUR for a public event at Ebenböckhaus and up to 800 EUR for the presentation of the project at Lothringer 13 Halle)
- Free accommodation
- Travel reimbursement within Europe (up to 350 EUR)
- Workspace at Lothringer 13 Halle
