House of African Feminisms (HoAF) is a regional project, aiming at stimulating the exchange and networking of African feminists. African feminisms deal with the conditions of African women (including queer/trans women) and includes different, partly critical, movements, which in turn are in connection/conflict with the feminisms of the Global North. The project has been developed participatively with partners from the entire region.
The Goethe-Institut network in Sub-Saharan Africa is supporting artistic projects in the area of African Feminisms with a specific focus on the everyday life of African women of all generations.
This open call invites African artists, collectives and creative practitioners from the African continent to create digital creative projects that can be displayed on the House of African Feminisms (HoAF) website and resource. These can be photographic essays, reportages, short films, video works, visual or audio documentaries, or podcasts that question/engage queer feminism on the African continent.
HoAF will fund projects up to 1000 EUR. Artists are invited to explore novel perspectives on feminisms centered on the inclusion of queer perspectives and what that looks, sounds or reads like.
All aspects/reporting of the project must be completed by 1 October 2022.
